Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for front-line leadership in day-to-day operations of a designated production team to include safety, quality, efficiencies, and meeting production expectations. Provides overall direction to production floor employees in the areas of production, scheduling, performance management, training and other related areas striving to improve overall operational efficiencies. This position will have a rotating schedule to cover 2 shifts of production for staffing & training needs. Must be able to work 7:00AM/PM - 7:00AM/PM (Continental Shifts)
Reports to : Plant manager, Production Manager.
Responsibilities

Direct production employees on activities, policies, procedures, and quality standards to meet or exceed production targets.

Maintain scheduled production while meeting quality and delivery expectations.

Ensure quality verifications and checks are consistently performed in each department.

Discuss key issues with the Production Manager and Plant Manager.

Support and enforce the company’s safety program; act as a first responder and investigate incidents or accidents.

Manage and support production employees to deliver measurable results.

Assist in root cause analysis and implementing corrective/preventive actions.

Commit to continuous improvement and high-quality output.

Provide leadership and training for safety, quality, production, packaging, and maintenance.

Monitor and establish shift performance standards for safety, quality, and production.

Accurately enter production data in the system/logbook to monitor KPIs (e.g., downtime, setup time, inventory).

Collaborate with the team to control efficiencies, minimize downtime, and reduce labor and repair costs.

Promote 5S and lean manufacturing practices on the shop floor.

Act as the first point of contact for operators regarding equipment issues and direct maintenance as needed.

Organize workflow and ensure employees understand assigned duties.

Monitor employee productivity and provide coaching and constructive feedback.

Enforce legal and company policies; handle disciplinary actions when required.

Resolve employee issues and manage conflicts effectively.

Communicate all company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Ensure compliance with OHSA and workplace safety regulations.
-
Schedule production and changeovers, and coordinate materials for packaging.

Manage and reconcile production data through the ERP system.
-
Ensure all cleaning and sanitation tasks are completed and bins emptied timely.

Collaborate with the Maintenance department to minimize mechanical downtime and track root causes.

Report safety and quality concerns to the QA department.

Keep management informed of production efficiency and daily output.

Oversee daily plant operations, resolving inventory, equipment, and staffing issues.

Monitor and control raw material and finished goods inventory; alert managers when replenishment is needed.

Ensure proper storage of materials and packaging of final products.

Ensure all supplies and equipment are ready for daily production.

Maintain accurate records in compliance with HACCP, internal audits, and ISO 9001:2015.

Execute and manage production schedules and assign tasks to team members.

Ensure cases/rolls are accurately weighed and recorded.

Support cross-functional tasks related to new projects, logistics, or other company needs.

Be willing to work hands-on on the floor when needed.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change and interruptions.

Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.

Ability to lift and bend repetitively.

Ability to stand for long periods — up to 12 hours per shift.
