Position Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for safely, effectively, and efficiently following quality assurance procedures and conducting all required tests and inspections. The position of Quality Control Inspector is directly accountable to the Quality Manager for driving results that contributes to the company s success in the following key business areas: Safety, Quality and Delivery. This position is responsible for Performing routine checks, tests, gauging and instrument inspections of materials, goods in process and finished goods. Separation of acceptable and unacceptable product. The Quality Control inspector also monitors the cleanliness and condition of the Production floor and to ensure compliance to ISO, GMP, and food safety standards. Must be able to work 10:00AM/PM- 10:00AM/PM (Continental Shifts)

Responsibilities

  1. Exercise full authority to stop production in order to address quality issues.

  2. Make recommendations to managers and production leaders based on observations and findings.

  3. Work closely with Associates, Operators, and Supervisors to advise when process adjustments are needed.

  4. Inspect, test, and measure products according to specifications and customer expectations.

  5. Complete QC line inspection forms accurately and on time with hourly checks for size, weight, gauge, color, material, and other parameters (e.g., air holes, additives).

  6. Inspect newly received raw materials and packaging.

  7. Notify Supervisors/Operators when inspection results exceed acceptable limits or when significant quality issues are detected.

  8. Follow proper containment procedures and place defective items on hold; escalate to Production Supervisor, QA Supervisor, or QA Manager as needed.

  9. Re-evaluate reworked hold materials and determine release or further action.

  10. Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify product and process quality.

  11. Maintain detailed, accurate reports of non-conforming products, including photo documentation and communication to relevant staff.

  12. Conduct pre-operational checks on machines and initiate corrective actions for deficiencies.

  13. Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to rotate inventory and reduce product waste.

  14. Ensure production personnel enter scrap data correctly; report excessive scrap during setup to management.

  15. Assist with customer returns and issuing quality-related credits.

  16. Ensure GMP, food safety, and workplace safety practices are consistently followed.

  17. Maintain compliance with FSSC22000 and CHIA regulations; assist during audits and inspections.

  18. Read and understand all product specifications and client expectations.

  19. Follow all housekeeping, quality, safety, and operational procedures.

  20. Coordinate sorting and rework activities for non-conforming products.

  21. Ensure timely auditing and release of all finished goods.

  22. Approve QA-related data in the ERP system and ensure accurate data entry.

  23. Record finished goods receiving in Cyframe.

  24. Verify labels match work orders and complete associated paperwork.

  25. Create red/orange quality tickets and submit to the office.

  26. Verify all work orders, instructions, and specifications are followed.

  27. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change and interruptions.

  2. Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.

  3. Ability to lift and bend repetitively.

  4. Ability to stand for long periods — up to 12 hours per shift.
