Position Summary

The Print Press Operator is responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line. They are also responsible for following our company s Good Manufacturing Practices and Support plant production needs for daily operation, changeovers, and maintain print quality. Must be able to work 7:00AM- 3:00PM

Reports to : Supervisor, Lead-hand

Responsibilities

1. Work safely and follow all plant safety rules.
2. Set up print jobs, clean printing dies, and maintain print quality.
3. Keep the printing area clean and clear at all times.
4. Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments.
5. Fill ink fountains and control ink color and viscosity.
6. Set up the press and operate at slow speed to check sample prints.
7. Monitor press runs regularly to ensure quality standards are maintained.
8. Maintain a scrap rate of 2% or lower.
9. Perform quality checks every 10 rolls.
10. Troubleshoot the printing press when problems arise.
11. Report all safety issues to the Plant Supervisor.
12. Operate the printing press at standard production speeds.
13. Remove and clean plates and cylinders at the end of each press run.
14. Direct the press crew to set up, operate, and shut down the press.
15. Perform machine make-ready tasks using correct plates, dies, and inks as per the work order.
16. Conduct color and print matching to meet sample specifications.
17. Inspect printed material during runs and make corrective adjustments as needed.
18. Complete required documentation for job tracking, stock and ink reconciliation, and efficiency metrics.
19. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 QMS procedures and work instructions.
20. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change and interruptions.
2. Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.
3. Ability to lift and bend repetitively.
4. Ability to stand for long periods β€” up to 12 hours per shift.
