Position Summary
The Machine Operators will operate Blown Film Extrusion machines and all downstream auxiliary equipment. They are responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line. They are also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices and Support plant production needs for daily operation, changeovers, and outbound shipments. Responsible for assisting in packaging of product, providing breaks to Line-Associates and in Product changeover with other production teammates. Must be able to work 7:00AM/PM - 7:00AM/PM (Continental Shifts)
Reports to : Quality Control, Supervisor, Lead-hand & Production Manager.
Responsibilities

Set up and troubleshoot blown film extrusion machines efficiently and safely.

Train Associates to use extruders and set up production lines and downstream equipment.

Focus on improving overall quality, cycle times, and machine performance.

Reduce downtime and scrap through proactive monitoring and adjustments.

Ensure all quality control procedures are followed to maintain process and product standards.

Troubleshoot machine, auxiliary equipment, and quality issues with root cause analysis and corrective action.

Operate extruders and auxiliary equipment, including blenders, vacuum loading systems, and skid wrappers.

Perform minor repairs on blown film extrusion and auxiliary equipment.

Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve shift and company goals.

Assist with various production-related projects.

Accurately complete daily production paperwork and checklists throughout the shift.

Monitor production line operation and clear bag jams as needed.

Handle administrative tasks as necessary.

Follow all company safety rules and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment 100% of the time.

Ensure all team members follow safety protocols on the lines.

Use the Cyframe ERP system to enter machine and production variables accurately.

Perform other assigned duties, including learning new roles and assisting as needed.

Remove or shift materials and/or finished products to facilitate proper flow.

Meet production standards for specific assignments within the required timeframe.

Maintain a clean work area and demonstrate good housekeeping practices.

Ensure safety and quality throughout production.

Operate the machine at standard production speeds.

Maintain a scrap rate of 6% or lower.

Perform quality checks every 10 rolls/cases and ensure Line Associates do the same.

Clean equipment and work areas before, during, and after the shift.

Follow sorting and restacking instructions provided by the Quality Department.

Assist with changeovers when instructed by the Supervisor or Lead-hand.

Feed extruders with raw materials and additives.
-
Report maintenance issues on production equipment to Supervisors or Management.
